Disabling the audio engine

Say I use dorico only for engraving and I have no need for playback, is there a way to shut down the audio ending and halon so the program will run smoother?

thanks,
Akkad

Not currently, but we will have the ability soon to have manual playback configurations which will effectively prevent the engine from loading any plugins.

Can we now prevent the engine from loading any plugins?

There’s a thread here which provides some useful help.

I am in the same boat. I would like the option to be able to run the program without playback, by not loading any audio samples or engine.

In the next update we’ve incorporated the ‘Silence’ playback template m which you can set to be the default

Nice! Thank you all for your quick answers!

You can get a link to the template here.
