I don’t know if this is possible with a global setting or even if it’s standard music notation, but since I’m writing a free rhythm piece, I would like that bars without music are shown with the actual duration value of the rests, because otherwise the musician cannot know how long does the rest take.
I know I can do this manually, I’m just wondering wether this is possible with a global setting, rather than writing out all the rests.

There’s no way to do that without entering explicit rests, because the bar rest IS the correct way to display an empty bar, no matter the duration.
You’d need to enter rests explicitly, which wouldn’t take long.

This case is a bit particular because of being free rhythm. As there’s no time signature, the player has no way to know the actual length of the bar. However, I don’t know if it’s standard practice or if there’s a better way to notate it, it’s the only solution that I’ve found so far.
