Have had this a few times now - the project remains open BUT all menus disappear completely, so most functions become inaccessible.
So far this has been on a project started in Cubase 6.5 which uses various UAD 32bit plugins in a 64bit environment.
Not sure which factor is responsible yet but will continue trying to isolate the trigger.
