Disappearing AXR4T

I have the AXR4T in Windows 10 Pro with an Asrock Taichi 570 motherboard.

If I boot up with the AXR4T turned on my Asrock Thunderbolt card finds the AXR4T and everything works just fine. If I turn the unit off and back on it disappears and I have to reboot the computer (with the AXR4T turned on) for the AXR4T to show again.

Any suggestions?

Turn the unit on before you turn on your computer. Oh, wait … you already know that is the solution.

Why do you need to turn it off/on after your computer is started?

Not trying to be a smartass here, just an honest question out of curiosity.

I like to turn off my system at night-preamps, interfaces, etc.

I did end up deciding to put the AXR on a separate electrical outlet so that would always be “on” but it would be nice to be able to turn it off with the rest of my system at night. It doesn’t seem that this possible although I would guess the USB version can do this.

I guess I figured you would turn off your computer when you turned off everything else. You must be one that leaves your computer on 24/7? If so, that would change the situation. I’m in the habit of shutting it down.

Probably a good idea.
