Display different time signature

Hi all,
any tips how to display a different time signature from what is entered?
In this example I would like it to display simplay “5/4” but I’d like to enter it as 5+5/8, so that I automaticaly get the beaming in two groups of 5.

I think you have to do it like this. Manual beaming in the first bar, then a hidden time signature in the second.

You might need this beam grouping also under Notation Options.

@jesele how did you get the two groups of 5 in the second bar? When I enter [5+5]/8 I get 10 eighth notes beamed together and I couldn’t find a Notation option that split them (though I didn’t look very long :wink: ).

I had to enter [5]/8:[5]/8 for the hidden TS to get two groups of 5.

I know I’m a broken record about this subject but this is another example of a Notation option that is either mislabeled or has effects that it shouldn’t have, depending on how you look at it.

Thank you, Jesper. That is an easy an elegant solution. I’ll go with that!

So there is no popover command that I’ve missed, which would notetate one time signature but display another? I could imagine some situations where that woudl be helpful.
