Hi there,
How can I indicate “divisi” and “unis.” at the beginning of systems instead of above the staff at the point where it occurs?
Hi there,
How can I indicate “divisi” and “unis.” at the beginning of systems instead of above the staff at the point where it occurs?
ok, I assume this is impossible…
Do you mean that you want to have div. as a staff label, instead of (for instance) V. I div?
Don’t bump threads, it’s considered bad manners here. If you don’t receive any answer, it’s probably because the question is not clear. Post a picture of what you are trying to achieve, post a project that exhibits the problem you’re experiencing, as per the guidelines of this forum. ![]()
Ok, sorry for “bad manners”. Didn’t mean to hurt anyone!
You’re right: my question wasn’t very clear. I’ll try to express it differently.
Dorico expresses divisi only by splitting the part in 2 staves and adding just numbers to indicate div. 1 and div. 2.
Coming from Finale, I used to indicate only “div.” between the two staves at the beginning of the system.
Hope the following example is readable here…

You can assign whatever names you want to each split in the Divisi dialog. If you don’t want any names, you can do that, too.
Yes, I think I’ll do that.
Thanks mucho
