Putting aside the propriety and wisdom of string doing divisi in 3 or going from divisi in 2 then divisi in 3 (“Our is not to reason why.”).
I have this switch from divisi in 2 to divisi in 3 in Galley Mode
But in page mode or Engraving the third voice disappears:
is there some way to correct this?
The limitation is that you can have only one divisi change on a given system. If you want them both equal divisions, perhaps you could write the a2 div. on one staff, and split only for the a3?

This is a limitation I have hit a few times. As well as Mark’s suggestion, you could also try putting a system break at the point where the second divisi starts. Then the third staff will appear correctly on the new system.

When it fails silently, that sounds like a bug.

It’s not nice, but it is documented and it’s working as designed.
I agree. Music can go missing in page view.
At least Dorico should indicate there is a problem.

I hope this could be implemented. A red line or visible text that there is some missing music. I understand technically why this happens. This is also remotely connected to not having cutaway scores.

I personally only use the divisi function on a strings section where I need the parts to show two separate staves. If I’m fine with the part having a single staff with multiple notes on it, I will usually forego the divisi function - if the rhythms are different I will often use voices (“layers” from Finale).
I wonder if you might be able to work around this for now in this specific situation by putting the E’s and F# in the middle line together on the same staff with one of the other two divisi parts.
