I am working on a vocal piece with multiple divisions. (up to 3 division per voice).
Everything works fine for the whole piece, except for one passage: after going from 2 divisions to 3 divisions, the third staff does not show as expected in page mode (but does in gallery mode and is played back as expected)
How to force the staff to show?

This is a significant (and somehow dangerous!) limitation of the divisi feature: in page view, Dorico never adds a staff in the middle of a system. In simple cases (e.g. if you go from unis to divisi in the middle of a system), the maximum number of staves will automatically be allocated at the start of the system, and the staves in the unis section will be filled with the same notes as the upper staff.
But if you go from 2 to 3, the operation is impossible, so Dorico does nothing and keeps 2 staves for the whole system. In that situation, if you can, try to have a system break at the bar where you switch to 3.
The other “solution” would be to start the divisi one bar earlier and to use cutaway to hide the empty first bar of the 3d section, but it’s not ideal (for staff labels, and also if you need part layouts).

That limitation is quite frustrating, I hope it will be resolved in future versions (beginning a new staff in the middle of the page is quite standard, at least in XXe century music)
I am not sure what workaround I will choose (beginning the divisi a3 one bar before compromise the balance between the 2 real parts…) ; I may force the first bar on the previous system…
You could try to cover this with a Manual Cutaway.
Select the empty bars, then call the Jump Bar by pressing J, then type “Manual Cutaway” and confirm with Enter.
