Hi everyone, is anyone using the DMX section on VST live 2? I would be very interested in programming simple LED lights for my live shows but I have never delved into the DMX world and I would like to be able to view tutorials that go into detail. For now I have only seen very vague and generic things, nothing really practical. Thanks
Hi @RingoKey ,
We use DMX here. There are different ways, methods.
If you want to program difficult things, you can do it via a professional lighting desk then record it to VSTLive.
Second is to draw your channel infos by hand.
Third there are a few DMX plugins if just talking about max of 8 channels.
But no fixture handling or pre built programmes there.
Hi @fkalmus, thanks for the reply. I have been programming midi, VST and much more for a long time but DMX is absolutely new to me. I hope to understand something. I would be inclined to buy Enttec DMX USB Pro Interface to control with VST live 2. I hope I don’t make a mistake in purchasing
I would suggest you buying an ArtNet node instead if you have an Ethernet port on your show computer
DMX is about channel levels. So nothing else just adjust levels the right time on the desired channel
And please note: DMX fixtures are absolutely light/model dependent so all needs to be “drawed” for that lights
