I’m very new to DMX. Is there a posibility to have an initial setup when selecting a song/part, like with MIDI devices?
Hi @Falfango,
at the moment I can not understand your request. Can you give me some hints, maybe a description about the missing workflow? Maybe a picture? Sometimes picture can help here a lot.
Thank you,
Michael.
Hi @Falfango just guessing as Michael, …
- you mean some that sends ZERO for all channels? Or
- some “basic” pre-defined dmx-ch level that is present for all newly created songs?
@fkalmus you’re right. I want to send values to channels, when selecting a song/part. Mostly will be 0 to turn the lamps off, but some lamps I will turn on.
But this is not for newly created song. It is for existing song to define a predefined set of channel values, when a song becomes active.
Okay. I will write you 2 sols:
- create one DMX track set/draw these then Copy/paste to another songs
- as soon u’re done with an empty, save as def. song
That doesn’t help. cause I have to press play to send. What I want is, like for MIDI tracks, that everything on 1.0.0 (or an equivalent solution) is send by selecting the song.
Okay, then in preferences (DMX) there is an option
At STOP → BLACKOUT
That will send ZERO for all dmx channels
NOTE:
With DMX the industry standard is to always keep last received levels
So probably better to set the desired ch levels at the end of “previous songs”.
Thanx for the hint with preferences. This solves at least one issue.
It’s a very poor solution, as the song chain varies from setlist to setlist. As a workaround I think of “songs”, which are only one bar long and stops at the end. So I can set them before the choosen song,
That will work too
