I’m not sure if the problem is with my equipment or if it is due to the latest VST Live update. I have both VST Live 2 and VST Live 3 installed. I opened a new VST Live 2 project, added a DMX clip from 1.1 to 9.1. Added some DMX data using the DMX Mixer In.
The output device is the ENTTEC Open DMX USB and it was working fine when I played a gig last week.
DMX Setup shows the FT232R USB UART and shows it is connected, but when I play the track, I do not see the lights working.
Could you please go back to that project and use “File → Save Archive…” to create an archive of it? Once done, please zip the generated folder and upload it here so we can take a closer look.
I also have a couple of quick questions that will help with the analysis:
Which version of VST Live 2 are you currently running?
Do you see the same behavior in VST Live 3 when testing with a new project (add a DMX track, create a DMX clip, add data)?
Checked on 2.2.90 and 3.0.10, for me dmx on artnet out works normally (in V3 after raising dmx track fader to 0). Did not check on USB DMX out, i’ll do tomorrow.
Meanwhile i noticed that changes in dmx track fader is not recognized as project modified and it did not triggered the save dialog on quit.
I was able to get the usb dmx working by going to device and connections and setting the output to my DMX USB. Then in the track view move the DMX track fader all the way to the right. The problem is when I close the project and reopen the fader is back to the left and the DMX lights do not turn on. I don’t have any automation set so I’m not sure why the fader does not stay in the position I leave it when I save and exit.
