Do I have to buy Iconica separately?

I bought Dorico in September because of Finale closing down, using the discount. I see that HALicon is there; also listed when I have tried playing back scores is Iconica, but I don’t know if that’s actually being used, or if I have to buy that as an extra. After taking a break I’m back trying my hand at Dorico now in December, and I did the download of the new version of Steinberg Download Assistant; in that process I also saw about downloading the updated version of HALicon. In that download, it listed Iconica, but it says “waiting for download” for some of the parts of it, and none of them are completed well after the HALicon has finished. ???

Welcome to the forum, @billrobinsonmusic !

Iconica Sketch is included with Dorico.

Thanks. Trying to find out how to change the numbers that are associated with note durations so that they match what I’m used to in Finale; 3= 1/16, 4 = 1/8, 5= quarter etc. I’ve used Finale for 22 years and these are baked in.

It’s in Preferences > Key Commands > Note Input > Set Note Duration

I got there, screen looks like this, but I can’t change the number. ? I tried Remove Key Command to be able to replace the number, and it erased, but then I couldn’t add the new number “5” . This is very confusing.

  • Click on “Remove Key Command”
  • Click where it says “Press shortcut”
  • Enter the number you want
  • Click on “Add Key Command”
  • Click on “Close”
