Does Garratan Classic Pipe Organs work well in Dorico?

Actually, Garritan Pipe Organs does contain exactly the same Organ Console as found in GPO5, under the “Utility” section. But, to be honest, if you have GPO5, I can’t see any point in getting Classic Pipe Organs, as the 74 stops in the Console map onto almost all of the ‘stops as instruments’ in the rest of CPO.

The only benefit, unless I’m missing something, is the greater number and possible permutations of stops that using 16 instruments in one ARIA Player gives you, instead of 12 stops, limited to 4 x 3 ‘ranks’. (Though conceivably, you could have multiple Consoles responding to different channels…) But the Console also offers the ability to turn the stops off and on easily.

I’ve created a Playback Template for the GPO5 console, which would just need pointing at the different Console in the CPO.

I’m intrigued to see what more could be done with the ‘bare’ stops-as-instruments on different channels in one ARIA Multi VST; and I might have a fiddle with it.
