Does SL have these modules that RX has?

Lip / mouth “click” removal.
Removing unwanted sounds from field recording ( example a car drives by a person giving an interview and you want to remove the car noise )
Remove certain harmonics from waveform.

I read the manual, according to the manual SpectraLayers doesn’t have any of these modules

@ensoniq_ts10 lip/mouth click is indeed one of the most requested module, it’s on the wish list for the next version. For now you’d have to use tools like the Eraser tool.

Yes of course you can remove unwanted sounds from field recording, that’s one of the top use of SpectraLayers, and it’s far better at that than RX. See for instance the Voice DeNoise module, plus all the manual selection tools that SL has and RX doesn’t have.
Couple examples here: https://divideconcept.github.io/Restoration-Comparison/

Yes you can absolutely remove harmonics with much more control than in RX - see all the selection available selection tools.

While, as Robin said, the de-clicking automated module is lacking as of now, I can guarantee you that SL is miles ahead of any other tool at the moment in regards to what it can achieve in editing. It will do things its own way, but it’s all there.

With the wealth of tools and selection modes it has you can clean pretty much anything, much faster and better than RX, but there will be a learning curve.

For click removal the Heal tool does wonders for now.

I’m demo’ing both right now and both of them have strength and weaknesses.
the biggest concern for me in SpectraLayers is that it often crashes when selecting it from extensions in Cubase.
And I prefer RX’s de-clicker , and mouth / lip noise remover that SL doesn’t have.
But since SL is on sale I’m considering buying SL

ah nevermind its no longer on sale.
can’t believe the sale ended so quickly. Doesnt Steinberg understand that people have families, children and other responsibilities, we don’t have few days to drop everything and demo the software and buy it. Unbelievable. :rage:

@ensoniq_ts10 So quickly ? It was one of the longest sales action during the black friday, running from November 20th to December 11th. Hardly a quick sale… Plus the end of the sales action was already announced in advance in every emails and social posts. Really, Steinberg is not to blame here.
