I’m currently using an original UR44 with my 2019 MacBook Pro 16" (pre-M1) and macOS 10.15.7 (Catalina). Wondering if it’s alright to update to macOS 12.1 (Monterey). Has anyone tried it?
A Steinberg reply to a post on this board seemed to suggest that the most recent version of the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver (3.1.1, released 18 November, 2021) would work, even though the UR44 isn’t listed under “Supported Hardware”. This is contradicted, though, by their “macOS Monterey product compatibility” article, which shows the UR44 as still in “testing” – but it’s been a long time since this was updated. I guess I should probably just wait until Steinberg makes an official announcement, but feeling a bit impatient.
