I noticed there is no upgrade option from Wavelab 4. Any trade-in programs?

These files format can be read and written.
For writting mp3, however, you need to have the free lame module installed on your computer, or you have to buy an extra licence ($15?) to active the fraunhoffer codec.

I just bought WL Elements 8 and I’m able to create mp3 files using fraunhoffer codec without any extra licence.

Probably because you have Cubase 7…

Who supplies this?

I can tell you, I’d be converting my .wav and/or .aif mix downs into MP3s. I would need this functionality.
