Doirico Elements Installation Only

I’ve installed Dorico Elements, but the installation also installs the full version. So I deactivate the full version, keeping Elements activated, and then run Elements. However, when I run Elements it then activates the full version (without prompting), so when the UI appears I get the full version. I don’t want the full version, I just want to trial Elements, but I can’t run JUST elements without it activating, installing and running the full version.

How can I trial JUST Elements to see if its what I want? Thank you.

Try holding down the alt/opt key while launching Dorico. The app is the same for Pro, Elements, and SE. The license is the difference. Cmd/ctrl-key for launching SE.
So, the Pro version can launch as SE or Elements also.

Thanks for your help. It basically worked, but with a small change. I’m running Windows 11, so if I hold the Alt key down while double-clicking I get the properties menu. If I hold down the Alt key just after double clicking I get the full version running.

So, the way to make it work is to hold down the Alt key, right-click on the icon and click on the “Open” menu option.

Great, I only work with Mac myself.

Hold Alt single click the Dorico App icon launches Elements (on Windows 11).

That doesn’t work for me, unless the icon is in the taskbar. If the icon is on the desktop nothing happens.

That’s because the desktop icon is only a shortcut.
