Dolby atmos mixing console?

Besides the Neve Genesys G3D and the SSL System T (which admittedly still doesn’t have actual “objects” support), I can’t find a single console that will actually mix an ATMOS project. Why was I looking?

I wondered if any “Purist" (translation: Full Analog Recording Chain) project would be able to be delivered without transferring the analog tape files to Nuendo/Pro Tools, etc to turn into objects for mixdown. Frankly, I was surprised to even find those two desks.

In spite of all the hype and with us fast approaching a decade on this supposedly “totally supported at every turn format,” I’m not seeing that much infrastructure to deliver premium content. It’s all ITB for Binaural HP deliveries, which is surprising, since it’s theoretical core market is Home Theater Audiophiles.

I get that 90% of the SALES market is going to be for people streaming their content. But they’ve been hyping this platform since day one for the Rolls-Royce, Mercedes/Maybach 7500 Sq foot and up home owners with dedicated home theaters. Yet we’re still creating content on laptops with prosumer mic pres and plugins. Really?

Shouldn’t there be a 200 channel, 56 bus analog console desk with AI mixing down 8 Studer 24 track machines for the “Ultimate Audio Experience” by now?

I guess it’s encouraging that you actually COULD take a state of the art analog 24/48 track desk and rung it through that Neve or SSL T consoles from start to print. But it begs the queston, “How much of this actual market exists vrs just marketing Hype?”

Pointless discussion? Probably. But I’m sick to death of politics. Your mileage may vary.
