Looks like this, I played only Synth 1 with MIDI channel 3.
When switching the E-Piano from Any to 2 it will also triggered when playing on the keyboard, MIDI channel 3.

Not the case if using a MIDI merge/thru box or wireless MIDI which, in my case, feeds a single input port on the UMC1820 → VL. I guess I’m not the only one.
Some MIDI keyboards have a built in split ability which can generate different MIDI channels. E.g. Korg Kronos, StudioMaster SL88
