Dorico 3 and NotePerformer

Update (26 November 2019)
NotePerformer version 3.3 has now been released. This version is fully compatible with Dorico 3, and you no longer need to follow the instructions below: simply download and install the NotePerformer 3.3 update from the NotePerformer web site.

Original information (6 September 2019)
When you install Dorico 3, you will find that the NotePerformer playback template no longer appears in Play > Playback Templates. This is because Dorico 3 introduces a lot of new features to handle playback templates, and it requires changes to the playback templates installed by NotePerformer. Arne Wallander at Wallander Instruments, the manufacturer of NotePerformer, is currently working on a new release that will include official support for Dorico 3.

In the meantime, you can manually install the attached playback template to get NotePerformer working with Dorico 3.

Windows
On Windows, in Windows Explorer go to %PROGRAMDATA%\Steinberg, where you will probably see a folder called Dorico 2. Now copy the attached zip file into the Steinberg folder, alongside the existing Dorico 2 folder, and unzip it there. You should end up with two folders, called PlaybackTemplateGenerators and PluginPresetLibraries. Restart Dorico, and you should find that the NotePerformer playback configuration is now available in Dorico 3.

Mac
On Mac, in the Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder and in the dialog that appears, type /Library/Application Support/Steinberg and click Go. You will probably see a folder called Dorico 2. Create a folder called Dorico 3 alongside the existing Dorico 2 folder. Now copy the attached zip file into the Dorico 3 folder you’ve created, and unzip it there. You should end up with two folders, called PlaybackTemplateGenerators and PluginPresetLibraries. Restart Dorico, and you should find that the NotePerformer playback configuration is now available in Dorico 3.
