Dorico 4 stuck on Save window

Hi,
I purchased Dorico 4 very recently, and I am experiencing some issues in saving files. Once the Save window is open, everything freezes: I can’t write a name, pick a folder, or even just close the window to go back to Dorico. Everything seems to be stuck on that window. My only option is to force quit Dorico, which also means losing all my work. I am very new to Dorico, so I wonder if I am only missing something important in the setup.

Cheers,
Claudio

Hi Claudio, welcome to the forum.

Please invoke in Dorico’s main menu the item Help > Create Diagnostics Report and post the corresponding zip file here. From the contained information we can give further advice.
Thanks

Hi Ulf,
thanks for the reply!
Here is the report.:
Dorico Diagnostics.zip (643.7 KB)

Meanwhile, I tried rebooting my computer and now it seems the Saving tab works, but it would be good to know if it was a problem on my end or something else concerning compatibility. For the sake of completeness, I have a MacBook Pro 2,6 GHz Intel Core i7 6 core, running MacOS Monterey.

Thanks for the data. Contained is a Dorico crash file, so @dspreadbury will soon have a look at it. Let’s see what he has to say about it.

I’m glad that a reboot sorted out the saving problem, Claudio. You’re actually entitled to a free update to Dorico 5: if you go to your Steinberg ID account here and click Vouchers you’ll see a Dorico Pro 5 grace period update voucher. Click Redeem to redeem it, then run Steinberg Activation Manager on your Mac and click the “refresh” button in the top right corner to update your license to Dorico 5.

To actually install Dorico 5 itself, run Steinberg Download Assistant and find Dorico Pro 5 in the list of products on the left-hand side, then click Install All to install everything. Once everything’s installed, you can delete the Steinberg folder left behind in your Downloads folder.

Regarding the crash log in the diagnostic report, it looks like an audio engine-related problem, but if things are generally running stably now, then I wouldn’t worry too much about it.
