Dorico 4 won't play instrument sounds

I’ve spent most of a week trying to use this software (which I’ve owned for almost five years). I had to get it relicensed, uninstalled, reinstalled, reconfigured, etc. Now that it’s up and running it won’t play instrument sounds. The metronome clicks, so the headphones are working, but nothing else. When I try to click on the tilted “e” under the Router section of the Play tab, nothing opens.

Following the prompt in another post here’s the diagnostic report:

Dorico Diagnostics.zip (2.2 MB)

Can someone please help me with this?

Have you tried applying (or re-applying) the various Playback Templates accessed through the Play menu.

I don’t think so. How would I go about doing that?

Hi @UniTenor ,
if reapplying a playback template does not help, please go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST2 and see if there is a NotePerformer64.dll in that directory. Because according to your diagnostics, Dorico tries to load NotePerformer but exactly that operation fails. So no NotePerformer, no sound.

All five of the elements (including NotePerformer) are on the list. I reapplied all of them. Still nothing.

I was really hoping this would work….

… but no. The NotePerformer64.dll does show up in that directory. It’s just not accessing it.

Would a total uninstall/reinstall be okay? I shouldn’t have any more licensing issues, right?

@UniTenor, I’ve sent you a private message via this board, please check.
