Hi I have Dorico 5+ on both Mac and PC. Everything works great on Mac, but on Windows it is impossible to work with. Extremely slow and freezes very often.

What are your Windows machine specifications like? (CPU, RAM, etc.)
AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
64 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
SSD
Win 11 Business fully updated
What do you mean by Windows 11 Business? As far as I know there is only Home and Pro and Enterprise.

@Jiri_Matejka thanks. Never heard of it - very curious. I wonder if the edition has anything at all to do with this issue. Probably not, but you never know.
It’s probably the normal Pro version, it’s just a multilicense so it’s marked as such
Your logs indicate a Yamaha AG06 interface. For troubleshooting, disconnect it and observe. Have you got an alternative interface to try? Drivers updated?
Logs show generic ASO driver. Is there not a Yamaha driver for the unit?
Why does the log show Dorico always remapping the output ports?
I don’t work for Steinberg, but @Ulf will know.
Jiri, can you be a bit more specific about what you are finding to be slow? I’ve had a quick scan through two or three of your application.log files, which shows me the timings for all of the commands you’re running within Dorico, and in general everything looks about as I would expect, with only operations like saving taking any appreciable time. In general commands seem to be executed in less than 300ms, and often much faster than that, less than 100ms. What in particular are you finding very slow?
Regarding what @Andro wrote, the remapping is not an issue, but it is true, @Jiri_Matejka you better use the Yamaha Steinberg USB driver for the AG mixer; you can change it under Edit > Device Setup. But it is just a small refinement and should not have an impact on the responsiveness of Dorico.
For example, switching between the modes (Setup, Engrave…) takes up to 4 s. Selecting an object (dash, note, bar line…) takes surely min, 1 s., copying data from one warp of about 100 bars) takes again several s. As I mentioned at the beginning. I regularly alternate my macbook Pro M2 with my PC, which is not bad and the speed differences are abysmal.
Situation improved a bit when I installed the 5.1.21 update yesterday
Thanks Done. No impact for speed, but so good to know.
I don’t see those kinds of times in your application logs. Does the size of the project have any impact on the time it takes to switch mode? Does choosing a different playback template have any impact? What playback template are you typically using?
Common operations have improved a lot with Version 5.1.21.2098. CCa 1 s to switch Page/Gallery View. I write small projects of about 10 stafs, 100 bars. Playback template I use default I usually switch consciously only when program is not playing. Current project HSO, HALion Sonic Sel., Olympus, GASE
Hi,
I have the same problem with an older verion of a score I started in Dorico 3, upgraded until 5.
Now is working so slow, I can not input notes without few seconds lag.
Could somebody try the file and let me know if is anything wrong in their computer as well? Because other files seems to work very good (even big complicated ones)
Thanks

I wouldn’t say “few seconds” for note entry, more like half a second or so for me, but some of that is dependent on computer specs.
I have a large score myself (fewer instruments, more measures) that exhibits the same behavior.
Especially when I try to undo something, it takes minim 5 seconds
I have quite a good comp : i7 Intel, enough ram
The thing is that other newer projects with big enssemble work better
But this one is a nightmare
