Dorico 5 (Latest) - Modern D VST Crashing Frequently on Load - Attached .dmp File

Dear Steinberg Support Team and Dorico Community,

I am encountering a persistent crashing issue with Dorico 5 (latest version) specifically when I attempt to load the Modern D virtual piano (latest version). This happens consistently whenever I try to use this particular VST instrument within Dorico.

My system specifications are as follows:

  • Operating System: Windows 11
  • Dorico Version: Latest Version
  • Modern D Version: Latest Version, Uvi Workstation 4
  • Audio Interface: Integrated Realtek Audio
  • Audio Driver: ASIO4ALL

This problem occurs every time I try to load the Modern D VST within a Dorico project. I have tried restarting my computer and Dorico multiple times, but the issue remains.

I have attached a .dmp file that was generated during one of these crashes. I would be very grateful if someone from the support team or the community could analyze this file to understand why Dorico crashes when loading Modern D and suggest a solution.

Hi Beety,
the dump that you sent is a freeze dump, i.e. the audio engine is not crashing but only deadlocked while trying to shutdown.
So the dmp file does not fit to that what you describe. Could you please instead do from Dorico’s menu Help > Create Diagnostic Report and post the corresponding zip file here? Thanks
I hope that will contain more and other dmp files as well.
