Dorico 5 Most Wanted

One of the goals that Steinberg had when it brought us on was to provide a kind of succession plan for the scoring technology inside Cubase. Cubase’s score editor has been largely the work of a single developer, Michael Michaelis, who has been with Steinberg for more than thirty years. It is his life’s work, in the way that building first Sibelius and now Dorico has been our life’s work. One day, Michael will retire, and it’s important that the capabilities in Cubase are able to be maintained beyond that point.

At the same time, it doesn’t make sense for Steinberg to maintain two completely different engines for handling music notation. So you can join the dots there, and imagine that in the longer term we are working towards using parts of Dorico’s technologies for those purposes.
