I have been running Dorico Pro 5.1.81 ok up to now.
I believe everything is up to date.
Using Steinberg UR44C audio interface,
Windows 11 Home version 24H2.
Dorico Diagnostics.zip file is 5.07MB so bigger than the 4MB max I can upload here.
Please advise . Thanks
Please send directly to u dot stoermer at steinberg dot de. Thanks
But Iām off now, will take a look tomorrow morning
Ok great, I sent it
Hi @planet23 , thanks for the data. Contained are 6 crash dumps of the VSTAudioEngine and it is always crashing in the ASIO4All driver.
Well, if you have a UR44C then you better run it with the dedicated YSUSB driver that comes together with the UR.
I guess it only will become difficult to switch the driver, because the audio engine already dies long before Dorico is up to the point where you could call the Device Setup dialog, right?
So therefore please try following:
Into the address bar of the File Explorer copy and paste the line
%APPDATA%\Steinberg\Dorico 5 AudioEngine_64
and hit the Return/Enter key. At that location you will find a file called Defaults.xml. Rename that to _Defaults.xml and then try to run Dorico again.
That helped - it got a bit further then it hung waiting on the ASIO4All driver.
After uninstalling ASIO4All and running with YUSB driver (which I should have done) everything working normally. Thanks very much!
