Dorico 5se installing, though I purchased Dorico 5 Pro

A few days ago I purchased Dorico 5 Pro via education and competitive cross-grade - if that makes a difference. I put in the activation code that was email to me and the download assistant shows both Dorico 5 Pro and Dorico 5se. I ignored the 5se, and downloaded/installed every in Dorico 5 Pro (which seems to be the same, plus extras). When I execute Dorico, via the desktop shortcut, it shows the 5se splash screen and also shows 5se in the “help->about” window - plus there is an upgrade button on the launch screen for Dorico Elements.

I am using Windows 11 on an Asus VivoBook 15. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well as deactivating and reactivating, but to no avail. Any thoughts on this?

Welcome to the forum. Dorico uses the same executable file for all versions; at startup, it checks to see what license you have and “unlocks” that version.

Have you activated your license in the Steinberg License Manager?

@Kristopher_Thornton
You should also be able to turn off your Dorico SE license in the Steinberg Activation Manager (SAM) so everything defaults to using Pro. If you ever need to check something in SE (or Elements) you can startup Pro in that mode by holding down a modifier key when you start the program.

I didn’t even know there was an activation manager. Everything works perfectly now, thank you!
