Hi Benji, I actually feel like a Tooheys or two (Australians will know what i mean).
Anyway, where exactly is it hanging, in the vstscanner or in the vstscannermaster?
If it is hanging and not crashing, then I need a spindump of the process.
There is a free tool called ProcessExlorer from Sysinternals that can create mini dumps from a running process. It’s tiny and for free and so much better than TaskManager.
You find a certain process in the list of all running process, do a right click on it and from the pop-up menu choose Create dump > Create mini dump.
Save it to disk, zip up and then attach to a reply here. Thanks
so it is the vstscanner hanging while having Opus loaded. Since I don’t have the debug symbols there is hardly anything I can tell about it. That’s why I’ve sent that dump file to my friends at EastWest and see what they have to say about it and why it is hanging.
And you are sure that there is no dialog box maybe sitting behind the Dorico window waiting for a prompt?
I just had a very nice Teamviewer Session with an EW tech, and the issue seems to be that the PACE licensing engine is somehow timing out upon scanning of the plugin, in Cubase as well as in Dorico. They are on the case and will keep me posted!
Thanks for sharing, Benji. Was it Gerrit that you were having the remote session with? To him I reported the issue in first place. I think I did not mention your name, so I wonder, did you also get in touch with EW on your own initiative?
