Dorico 6.2.30: Key Editor zoom jumps to unrelated measure in Write mode (Galley View)

Environment

  • Dorico Pro 6.2.30.6245 (May 29, 2026)
  • Audio Engine 6.1.0.13
  • Windows 11
  • Display scaling: 100%
  • Galley View
  • Write mode with the lower Key Editor open

Problem
When zooming the lower Key Editor, the view jumps to an unrelated measure instead of zooming around the current position.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open a project (also reproducible in a new project).
  2. Go to around measure 90 in Write mode.
  3. Open the lower Key Editor.
  4. Zoom using Ctrl + Mouse Wheel or the H shortcut.

Expected result
The Key Editor should zoom around the current visible location (around measure 90).

Actual result
The Key Editor jumps to an earlier measure (for example measure 77 or even measure 62) while zooming.

Additional information

  • Selecting notes correctly synchronizes the score and Key Editor.
  • The issue occurs with both Ctrl + Mouse Wheel and the H zoom shortcut.
  • The issue also occurs in a new project.
  • Windows display scaling is 100%.

Welcome to the forum!

On Macs, it also sometimes changes active instrument if using automations. The key editor is probably the least controllable part of Dorico, in my opinion, so hopefully they are working on ways to improve its sensitivity and control.

In general the focus of the key editor works well if you highlight a note. If it does not focus on the note highlighted, the trick pressing p and then immediately the spacebar brings it very close to the highlighted note.
