Dorico 6 and Hauptwerk

I whitelisted the Hauptwerk-Link VST2 plugin, according to the Audioengine cache and the logs, it has been scanned successfully. Still, it is not listed in the VST dropdown menu.

What could be wrong?

Some information here:

I assume they do not have a VST3 version, you have checked?

It shows up for me in the VST dropdown menu on Windows, under Milan Digital Audio. Although I have Hauptwerk ver 8 and not 9.

No, they don’t have VST3 yet. They are about the only vendor at the moment who hasn’t released a VST3 version. I was disappointed when they came out with version 9 just 6 months back and still no VST3. I’m using the VSL Great Rieger instead as a result.

I have HW 9. It got scanned, but it does not show up in the menu yet.

I can’t speak about 9 because I don’t have it, but Hauptwerk 8 for me is under the vendor Milan Digital Audio - keep in mind there an invisible scrollbar in the list of vendors when you call up the list of VST plugins, so you might have to scroll down to “Milan” if you have a lot of plugins. I mention that because a lot of people make that mistake in that particular menu.

Hi everyone. I recently got Dorico Pro 6 for the crossgrade promotion from Finale.

I managed to figure out how to add Hauptwerk [IX (9)] added as a vst plug-in by having Dorico allow it in. Though the only issue I’m having at the moment is figuring out how to adjust the midi channels per stave. For example:

I typically use Sonus Paradisi’s Casavant Bellevue sample set when running Hauptwerk (I usually leave the midi channels for Hauptwerk alone when using it with Finale).

Previously in Finale, using only one “Bank”, I would set the Pedal to MIDI ch. 1, followed by the Great/Gr. O channel to 2, and Choir/Positiv to 3 (while in rare cases when needed for specific playback scenarios, I would set Swell/Recit to 4).

In the play section in Dorico, when I had my test project going, I notice with the VST instruments setting and click on Endpoint Setup, I am able to have up to 16 channels per midi port.

I assumed that I only need one midi port, and three channels, so I had set it up like that. However, for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to assign the other two channels to the Hauptwerk VST.

Can anyone here who also has Hauptwerk and ideally also Dorico [Pro] 6 help me figure this out?

I can share my test dorico file if anyone needs it as a reference for me to learn this.

Thanks.

You should be able to enable independent voice playback and manually set the channel for each voice.
