I am trying to uninstall Dorico 6 and Iconica Opus from my Mac Studio.
I don’t know how but my installation installed it on my Mac Studio which has about 30Gb of a terabyte on left, and also on my 600 TB external drive.
Is there an easy way to rid my Mac of Iconica Opus so my computer has its large space that were taken in the installation?
Any help is appreciated. I didn’t think uninstalling was such a mystery and they don’t have a delete procedure.

Use Steinberg Library Manager to uninstall or move Iconica Opus. I keep it on an external SSD and that seems to work well if you want to have it available to you. My Dorico installation remains on my primary drive because it seems to take relatively little space. I moved all of my libraries to the external drive and freed up a LOT of space.
You can remove sound libraries using Steinberg Library Manager. Select Iconica Opus and hit the ‘remove’ button.
That’s my question. I searched Google, ChatGPT, etc. and they helped me to get rid of some but my Mac Studio is almost completely filled with the install. I can’t find the files to bring back after deleting my disk space on the back to original.
I set up my external drive to accept all installation files, which I could see was working. That was until I looked at my Mac TB drive stuffed full of Ionica Opus. It installed in two places!
Any help is appreciated.

I am on Mac, I installed Opus like you. I had my path set to my ext. SSD, but for some reason, it installed internally. I used the Steinberg Library Manager to move it to the SSD, which it did. I then looked at my internal HD storage, but it had not gone down as I had expected it to.
I contacted Ulf (as I had a crash, but this was unrelated.)
His reply:
The default locations is Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Content (and sub folders) But be aware of following fact: When you move sound libraries to wherever else via the Library Manager, then the Library Manager really does move the files to the desired new location, but at the same time it keeps a symbolic link in the original/default location. So if you have a look at that path that I mentioned, you will still see tons of files lying around, but they are just symbolic links, not the real files.
Why does the Library Manager do that? By that Dorico, resp. the VSTAudioEngine does not need to learn the new location, it always just accesses the files with the old/default path and the symbolic link does the redirection to the real files.
So as a result you have the sounds files on an external drive and Dorico/VSTAudioEngine does not need to know about it at all.
… which did not answer why my storage was still high. I have been busy the last few days, but just now checked and the storage memory is back to what I had expected. Perhaps some overnight OS thing tidied up? You could reboot and try Disk First Aid?

I had an issue downloading Iconica Opus last week. The Steinberg servers limited throughput, downloads of the various huge parts failed at least once each, and despite setting a download location the Download Assistant chose very odd directories to place about half of the files. It never did an installation. I had to manually move all the files to my external drive select all and “Open” to install the sound files. It literally was a cluster @#$%. And, I’ve not been very impressed with what it offers either. Support was not helpful.
Nevertheless, the total install space required was over 180GB and nothing was mentioned about size and server throttling when purchasing it. Oh well, we live and we learn. I’m more happy with my Garritan Personal Orchestra 5 library.
And, I deleted all of the installation files which is how I got my space back on my primary drive. I’ve also moved all the other Steinberg libraries with Library Manager and deleted anything it left behind. The VST Audio Engine took a little longer to load at first but has no trouble now whatsoever. Steinberg needs to do better…that’s a very unprofessional approach to selling product in my opinion.
Since I hadn’t read Ulf’s helpful explanation, it took me several hours to work out what was going on.
And then I kept getting this message in the middle of a download:
It was some time before I realised that the download was continuing anyway, so this message could safely be ignored.
This is easily the most confusing and annoying download software I have ever used. And that’s not counting the fact that the VEPro template doesn’t work.
Actually there was some information on the Iconica page. I checked it before purchasing myself so I could know if I would download into my internal drive, or whether to direct it to my ext. SSD instead (which I did, but it didn’t)

yes it took many hours for me also, stopping occasionally (presumably to let people on and off? or orchestral samples to get on board)
I guess I missed the System requirements bit. That page was oddly formatted. While I am a fan of “white space” there’s so much vacant space on that web page that it was difficult to know whether you skipped something by accident scrolling through it or not. Oh, well, that is what it is.
Aren’t slow downloads the worst? Especially huge downloads that have to be restarted. I feel for the poor hamsters inside that server turning those wheels. They must be exhausted!
haha yes! Actually it’s difficult to know which hamsters are going slow in the chain from Steinberg out through the world. I actually thought it might be my end (my assumption being Steinberg would have fast servers (- service) especially for this library being so large), interesting to know you had the problem also.
They may not even realize that their servers are slow. Or, it just may be that the Download Assistant can’t process anything faster than about 3mb/s. That was the displayed speed in DA when installing the v6.2.2 update as well as when downloading Iconica Opus. They really should update that app… 
… Or the ISP is throttling the speed of large downloads!

Oh yes, the Download Assistant can handle way more, also our servers. I’ve had remote sessions with customers where they were connected via fibre and the mega bytes just flying through, Iconica Sketch within a minute or so, I can’t remember the exact rates. So there are also other factors like the ISP and the last mile.

I repetitively have much, much higher download rates with almost every other site where Safari or Chrome manages the download so I’m a bit stymied as to why only downloads from Steinberg would do that. Oh well, it’s water under the bridge now. As for the Download Assistant’s noncompliance with the specified download directory on an external SSD drive? I want to learn what I need to do better.

Did you specify the SSD in the Library Manager? It took me ages to work out that the files were being installed in the destination specified there, irrespective of anything in the Download Assistant.
Yes, that what the Download Assistant is doing is a 2 step process. It first downloads everything and then it invokes the installer(s). In case of the Steinberg sound libraries the installer is actually the Library Manager which in that moment then runs hidden in the background.
And the path that you can specify in the Download Assistant is really only the download location. The installer(s) pick up from there the install packages and install them to the final destination.
As explained, the Library Manager is the installer for the sound libraries and there you specify the final install location for the sound files. If you leave that field empty then the factory default path is used which is
Mac: /Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Content
Win: C:\ProgramData\Steinberg\Content
If left empty in the Download Assistant, the default download location is the Steinberg subfolder in the common Downloads directory.
I hope my explanation clarified things a bit.
Sure, thanks. Rather than choosing any default location, the Download Assistant just put about half of the files in one of my Garritan library folders and the other half or so where I had specified. There was not an option that I recall in Download Assistant for specifying the installation folder. It just didn’t install anything. I had to literally open the downloaded files, en masse, to get them installed into the Library Manager. Then I could move them where I wanted them.
If that is the case with you, Kent, then that is certainly a bug.
