Dorico 6 crash on startup

Just installed Dorico 6 on Windows 10. It runs momentarily and then stops. But if I run it as administrator, it starts successfully and reports that the previous run produced a crash dump. This behaviour seems to be repeatable. I tried to upload the crash dump here but it was too big.
I have of course pushed the Send to Steinberg button but I thought I should also say what caused the dumps. The two most recent are 158268 (11h55 CEST) and 169152 (11h51 CEST).

Please upload the crash dumps to a cloud storage provider of some kind (e.g. Dropbox, Google Drive, Box, et al) and post the links here. We’ll take a look and see if we can determine the cause of the crash on your system.

Sure thing. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/2iijs9bg7tnwyu71ts5su/CrashDumps.7z?rlkey=zildrg9kc5a5l4tq3y4r9891w&dl=0

I tried running Dorico 6 immediately after installing it and had no problem. I believe that the only change to my system since yesterday was that I uninstalled Dorico versions 3.5 and 4.

You did not use some utility app to do that, right? I’ve been beaten by that Clean my Mac trap once, and it can really get your computer messy!!! I had to cure each and every siund library woring with Kontakt, and that was painful. Not saying that they would ruin Dorico in case you use it, but honestly suggesting it could be a lead!

No, I didn’t. I used the standard Windows Add and Remove, which in turn called the registered Steinberg installers for each.

But now that you say it, I will see if a reinstall helps. It may be an unlikely cause, but it is one that is quick and cheap to eliminate.

But I will refrain from changing anything about my installation until the people at Steinberg have a chance to look at the crash log. They might have questions.
I have a perfectly acceptable workaround if I need it, and besides, last night I played in my last concert of the season so needing it is unlikely.

Thanks for the crash logs, which I’ve examined. We’ve seen this crash before. Please try the following:

In Windows Explorer, go to C:\ProgramData and delete the boost_interprocess folder you find there, then try running Dorico again. Hopefully that will allow the software to start properly.

Thank you. That fixed it. And on a holiday long weekend, too .
