Dorico 6 crashes on launch after latest macOS 26.3.1 update

Hi everyone,

after updating to macOS 26.3.1, Dorico 6 stopped working.

Dorico version: 6.1.10
Mac: 16-inch Intel MacBook Pro (MacBookPro16,1)

The issue is that the app crashes immediately on launch. In the crash report I can see an error like EXC_CRASH / SIGABRT with abort() called, so it looks like an internal app crash triggered after the macOS update.

Dorico was working fine before the update, so I suspect either a compatibility issue with the latest macOS version or some preference/cache/plugin conflict that showed up after updating.

Has anyone else using Dorico 6 on Mac had the same issue after this update?
Did you manage to fix it with any of these steps?

  • resetting preferences/cache

  • starting in safe mode

  • reinstalling Dorico

  • removing VST plugins

  • launching without external components

  • updating Steinberg Activation Manager / eLicenser

I’m not pasting the full crash log because it’s huge, but I can share the relevant part if needed.

Thanks in advance.

For what it’s worth, I’m on 26.3.1 on my MacBook Air with no problems. (I have Dorico 6.2 though. It’s probably worth upgrading and see if that helps.)
