Whenever I enter lyrics and need a hyphen (i.e., press the “-” key), Dorico 6 crashes without any error message. Has anyone else encountered this issue and found a solution? I need to finish a large choral score by the day after tomorrow and… well… without hyphens between the syllables, things get confusing…
It also seems to only happen with this one project. When I create a new project, I can enter lyrics without any problems.
It seems the issue was caused by changing the font. As soon as I switch back to Academico, everything works fine. Any other font causes the crash I described. I guess I’ll just type in Academico and switch fonts afterwards, but it’s definitely strange…
Which font were you using instead? Would you be able to collect your diagnostics (Help > Create Diagnostic Report) and post them here?
It wasn’t the font after all, but rather my cautious experimenting. As soon as I press the hyphen key too quickly in succession (regardless of the font), Dorico crashes. But only with this one project. New projects or older (even significantly larger) projects are stable. Something’s off, but what? So for now, I guess I’ll have to type carefully and slowly. Or copy the choir part into a new file for fast typing and then copy it back.
If you could upload your diagnostics file here it would help us get to the bottom of the problem and fix it properly.

Thanks for attaching the diagnostics. All of the crashes look to be consistent, which is a good thing. You say the problem seems to be limited to one project in particular: could you attach that project here?

I am experiencing the same problem: Dorico crashes while inputting lyrics…it´s also the “-” that causes the crashes. Had this problem some days ago but then it disappeared. Unfortunately it reappeared today. Maybe it´s also just limited to a certain flow I am working on, because I returned to the “problematic” flow again today. Any news on what might cause the crash?
If you find it occurs for a specific file, it would be very helpful for us to see the file in question, as it might give us a clue as to what is going wrong.
Similar problem here, Dorico crashed few times today when I worked in Lyrics tool. I’m sure that at least one crash was just after hitting hyphen button. I don’t see any crash report to send.

You should do Help>Create Diagnostic Report and upload the zip file that appears on your desktop.

@paolopiano, I’m sorry to say that your diagnostics contains no crash dumps, so I can’t say for sure what’s going on with you. @Tim_C, yours does contain some crash dumps, and they show a crash we’ve seen since Dorico 6.0 was released. I believe we’ve got this fixed internally now, though I can’t be 100% sure, as there seems to be a timing component to the bug, and so far I’ve been unable to reproduce it.
