Which version of Dorico is currently installed on your iPad? If it’s 5.* and you still experience the crash, then there is probably nothing that it can be done about it.
I did have Dorico 5.1.80, before being offered the V6 update.
But what about now? Problem is as follows:
6.0.0 required 14.0
6.0.6 requires 16.0
If the team hasn’t removed 6.0.0 from the app store connect, the last compatible version for old os-es will be 6.0.0 which is wrong. If they remove it, the last compatible version should be 5.1.80. However, if they have already removed everything 6.* before the current one and app store still doesn’t allow you to download 5.1.80, then there is no solution.
Hope Daniel and team come up with a solution!
Here’s the Crash Log after installing “the last compatible version”.

Yes, same here, SIGH!
“the last compatible version” is obviously not the last compatible version!
Is the solution so far away?
I updated to 6.0.6
It still crashed on launch.
I deleted and reinstalled Dorico.
It still crashed on launch.
Most significant change: It doesn’t write out crash reports anymore.
I’ve just made the change such that Dorico 6.0 is no longer offered; you should now get 6.0.6 if you’re running iPadOS 16 or later, and be able to download 5.1.80 if you’re running iOS 15 back to iOS 13.
After this recent change, just to confirm that I was able to download and use the “last compatible version” for my iPad, which is V5.1.80.2165.
Thanks.
Still crashing on 6.0.6.6020, which I just downloaded since you updated the store. I am on 18.0.2 iOS, running on Gen 7 iPad with 32 GB RAM. Crash happens when I delete or add players to the Film Orchestra template. Accessibility is off. Instruments set to General MIDI.

I discovered same issue today. I have same OS than you. I updated the app when it appeared in the updateable apps in the App Store some days ago. After trying to run it today I see it crashes immediately. I was searching for a way to revert to version 5 and just found this thread. Problem is that I have a project under work that I still haven’t transferred to PC. It would not be good if I can’t use Dorico for iPad anymore, as I own a full license. I understand that for version 6 I would need a new iPad, but if I can continue working with version 5 I will be happy for now.
We’ll keep our fingers crossed for a fix.
Backup all the projects (very important!!!), remove Dorico and then install it again. You should have Dorico 5 after that.
Very, very nice, thank you very much, it works!
I think in the App Store the version was at first handled as it was 14 (as @Nickie_Foenshauge said above) and then was corrected to 16. So, when I try to download it again I get now the message offering to download the last compatible one, the 5 in my case.
Just one tip: if you back up the project in another folder, to be able to recover de “Dorico” folder you just need to create a new (dummy) project.
Now I can breath and be happy.
@wibem1 @lesf42 this should work for you.
Edit: sorry, lesf42, I missed that you had already downloaded it successfully.
Thanks dspreadbury, that did it.
After getting " you can download the latest working version" or so,
i got a working 5.1.80.2165 !
Amazing Solution - thanks so much!
only the sounds of the notes during input are terribly short and strange, but at least,
currently no more crashes.
What a relief!
Update: Sorry for the delay -busy week. Open the app just now and all is normal,
Meaning there is no crash in preferences ~ Play to connect the midi keyboard! All is well. Thank you.
It seems to work for me, Daniel!
Thanks for the quick fix!
Dorico 6.0.10 has been released today. Unfortunately it still crashes on launch.
Deleting and reinstalling the app had no effect.
Update: Even returning the iPad to factory settings and restoring from a backup didn’t change anything ![]()
At least there is a crash log, please have a look:

Works fine here on a 2nd gen. iPad Pro 12.9.
