Dorico 6 license activation issue

I purchased and installed Dorico Pro 5 on a Windows 11 laptop last year. Today I downloaded and installed Dorico 6.

When I launch the Activation Manager, I only see Dorico Pro 5.

I tried rebooting. That didn’t help.

If I try to launch Dorico Pro 6, I get a window that says ‘No License Found’. Another window opens on top of this saying:

Launching Steinberg Activation Manager

To activate Dorico, switch to Steinberg Activation Manager and follow
the prompts. If Steinberg Activation Manager is not running, click
Relaunch. If you cannot activate Dorico now, click Quit.

Click ‘Relaunch’ does nothing.

This window closes itself after about 10 seconds and I get back to the ‘No License Found’ window.

If I click on ‘More Information’ I get a web page with generic information that does not help. Clicking on ‘Retry’ just gets a popup with the message ‘No licenses found. To learn more about this error, click “More information”’.

Why can’t it find my license? Isn’t my Dorico 5 license good for Dorico 6?

Unfortunately, V6 is a paid update, you’ll have to buy an update license…

Dorico 6 is a paid update, as it is always with major release updates.

The update from Dorico Pro 5 to 6 it is €99,99 (may vary depending on your country)

OK. I didn’t realize that. I guess I forgot that Finale charged for major upgrades, too.
