Hi guys, I am hoping someone can help me. I recently installed Vienna Mir Pro 3d 24 and I have not been able to open up any scores in Dorico 6 since. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Mir Pro and used instances of it in projects saved before it was installed. Does anyone know of any compatibility issues with Mir Pro 3d 24 and Dorico 6 or have any suggestions as to how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance. Peter Baldwin.
I’m using it without issues. Could you perhaps upload a small project that exhibits the problem?
I recently upgraded from Dorico Pro 5.1 to 6. I completed a project in that and now I can’t get it to open. I can still open 5.1 and get to my project but it opens in Dorico 5. Do I need to delete Dorico 5 from my computer to get version 6 to run?
One should be able to host both versions of Dorico on a machine simultaneously so long as one doesn’t try to run both at the same time.
Do you get any errors or does dorico hang anywhere you can tell?
My initial thought was maybe you didn’t have an iLok cloud session open and it was hanging up when it scans your VST’s? Ask me how I know that can happen ![]()
Thanks Winknotes. All sorted now.
Great ! MirPro 3D is such an amazing tool : enjoy !
When I go to the Windows Start button and find Dorico 6 and click on it, nothing happens. I opened my Steinberg Activation Manager and it shows 6 is Activated. I don’t know how to get it going again.
I even went to find the .exe file in Windows Eplorer at C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Dorico6 and tried to run the Dorico6.exe file as Administrator and nothing happens.
Have you tried restarting your machine and then opening Dorico before anything alse? IIRC if something else is using the audio engine, Dorico will not open.
That seems to have fixed it. I should have thought of that myself but I don’t often restart my computer. I guess I should get in the habit of doing that more often. Thanks for your help.
I recognize this problem. When it happens, I use ctr + shift + esc (Task manager), search in the list for ‘Dorico’ and ‘VSTAudioEngine’. If they are in the list, I right click on them and choose ‘End task’. After this action Dorico opens here again as normal.
Thanks for that.
