Hi everyone,
With Snapdragon X2 around the corner, I think it’s a good moment to revisit the topic of Dorico on Windows ARM. The new benchmarks are impressive, and for the first time ARM laptops look genuinely competitive for professional music work.
**Geekbench Single / Multi Core **
(Pre‑release benchmarks & leaks)
-
X Elite: 3,241 / 15,068
-
Ultra 7 268V: 2,729 / 10,025
-
X2 Elite (18‑core): 3,838 / 20,320 (+18%)
-
Ultra X7 368H: 2,983 / 16,379 (+9%)
-
M4 Pro: 3,940 / 20,124 (released 2024)
Since Cubase already runs natively on ARM and Qt now has full Windows‑ARM support, it feels like Dorico can’t be too far behind.
What I’m wondering is:
How well does Dorico 6 currently run under emulation on Snapdragon devices?
Older posts suggest mixed results, and it’s unclear whether Dorico 6 installs cleanly or whether NotePerformer works at all. Has anyone tested this recently?
And to the Dorico team:
Have you had the chance to try Dorico on a Snapdragon X Elite or X Plus device yet? Any insights would be extremely helpful for those of us planning new hardware purchases.
2026 is shaping up to be an exceptional laptop year. Both Intel’s upcoming generation and Qualcomm’s X2 look remarkably strong in very different ways, which makes the platform decision genuinely difficult. Many users whose other tools already run well on ARM — and who are now weighing these new CPU options — would really benefit from an updated status on Dorico’s Windows‑ARM plans.
Thanks in advance for any information!
