Dorico and NPPE Audio Export

Hey Everyone!!

(And Arne @Wallander)

(I did search the web for help so im going over covered ground I apoplogize!!).

When exporting audio from NPPE to master in logic i’m dealing with an issue:

When I render out stems theres always bit of silence. This makes sense with Noteperformers 1 second look ahead time for it’s AI. But this doesn’t happen with the stock noteperformer sounds. Makes it real challenging to synch up things and keep audio tied to a grid.

I tried importing a tempo map but same issue crops up. and I’m back to trying to eye up transients and on longer pieces this is not usually a solution.

My question:
(again sorry if this has been dealt with before)
am I missing something? is there a way to have the renders start at the beginning? or is this just how it is ?

Take care

Patt.

You should probably tag Arne @Wallander on this, as he would have the definitive answer.

Good Idea!!

Thanks @Derrek

When bouncing stems through NPPE, we include the latency second, because it may contain audio.

When bouncing natively through Dorico, the bounce starts at exactly 00:00 of the flow and doesn’t include the latency second.

I believe you can add a custom amount of silence at the beginning using “Playback Options / Timing / Pre-roll”.
