Dorico audio cutting for a second

Hey! So i’ve had this issue for quite some time and it only happens on my windows pc, not on my mac.

What happens is that i start playback for any file with any amount of instruments and it starts good but after some time the audio simply cuts for one second (see video)

It happens with any vst, noteperformer, halion, etc and it only happens on dorico, in sibelius it plays fine without any struggle.

I’ve changed drivers, sample rate and buffer lenght and the issue continues, i’ve checked and the memory/cpu usage has nothing to do with it.

Hi @Rodrigo_Andrade1, did you try also without dragging the score to the left with the maus every half bar?

Please, when this issue happens, create a Diagnostic report from menu help, and upload it here, so someone from the team can have some clue.

Yeah, even when i don’t drag or move at all it still lags

Hi @Rodrigo_Andrade1 , thanks for the data.

In the logs I can see sometimes “overload detected” messages coming from the audio engine. Well, the overloads can have several root causes, so we have to find out.

First, you seem to have a Focusrite audio interface, but use the Fruity Loop ASIO driver. What if you choose the generic Focusrite ASIO driver, same behaviour?
And you could also try with the Steinberg Built-In ASIO driver (and in the Control panel either direct the audio stream to either the PC-loudspeaker or your focusrite.) How’s that then?

Next thing you can check with is the free utility called LatencyMon. Please download and install the utility and see what that is saying. Simply press the start button and then start up Dorico again.

I’ve tried with every asio driver and it happens every time.

That LatencyMon is showing an error when i try to start

That’s a pity, usually that is a really good tool, but any how, then let’s try something else. Please have a look at this thread for what I’d like you to do now. Thanks a lot

I should send the file to this email, right?

Yes, but please remove the full address from the post. For spam reasons.

Yes, you wrote it correctly. But don’t put it plain text here in the public forum.

Web bots scan such places for finding mail addresses and spamming people.

I did edit it already…

You have super powers.
