Dorico / Cantai

I installed Cantai, but to my great disappointment it only works properly for English, even though they say it also supports Latin. In practice, that does not seem to be the case.

Are there any settings I should adjust so that Cantai can pronounce Latin correctly, without an English accent?

The same issue seems to apply to other languages as well, including German.

Renato,

Are you using the latest version of Cantai?

The developers at Turing Opera have made it plain that they welcome bug reports and support requests; good luck!

The FAQ makes it clear that other languages are coming.

Given the program/system’s promising start, I really believe we can expect great things in the direction you mention too.

Right now, Cantai only works with English and supposedly Latin. I’ve only had mixed results with the Latin, though. I’m working on a Latin piece now and I have to do some strange phonetic spellings. It lops off half the note duration with some of the hard consonants like c and x which it didn’t do in the previous version. I think v2.2.3 was not well revised as it introduced new issues and at least reintroduced one old issue (not being able to adjust to Pre-roll settings other than 0 on Mac (and maybe on Windows, too?).
