Dorico Consistently Crashing (When Clicking 'Rename Player' in Setup Mode)

I wonder if someone from the Steinberg team could help me please? I am experiencing immediate crashes with Dorico 6, as soon as I click ‘rename player’ in setup mode. This renders the program unusable. It happens in existing projects, new blank projects, and irrespective of USB connections/peripherals. I attach crash reports below, all with the same problem. Dorico 5 still works okay, so I’ve been continuing to use that.

MacBook Pro M1 Max, OS 15.4.1

Many thanks if someone could take a look.

Nice to see you here, Daniel (I’m that Leo).
Your diagnostics don’t seem to be showing up, probably because you’re brand new here and haven’t jumped through the various automated new user hoops (of reading x messages, posting y messages etc.)

edit: never mind - they’re showing now.

Welcome to the forum, @Daniel_Goodwin. It looks as if the issue is somehow related to accessibility. Do you have any accessibility settings activated on your Mac? If so, which ones?

Thank you very much for taking a look so quickly @dspreadbury, and for identifying the issue. You are right, I do use two of the functions under ‘Motor’ in Accessibility. Pointer Control and Voice Control (for RSI). I’ve tested it now, and Voice Control is the culprit. I’ve turned it off and the crashes are no longer.

Thanks for confirming. When accessibility features are activated in the operating system, it causes the Qt framework (which Dorico is built upon) to behave very differently, and it’s not uncommon for this to cause crashes, unfortunately. I can reproduce the crash when Voice Control is activated. We’ll look into this when we can, but for the time being please work with Voice Control deactivated if possible.
