It probably depends on whether you have some kind of system backup that includes your Dorico config files (in c:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Dorico 6 on Windows and /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Dorico 6 on Mac).
how can i back this up manually in the future? or does anyone here share key commands?
On a Mac, they are in your user library->Application Support->Steinberg->Dorico 6->keycommands_en.json

In Dorico 6, the easiest is probably using File > Export User Settings to create a zip file with all of your current config files. You can put this zip file wherever you want, and re-import it into Dorico later, if needed. Note that this is a static file, so you might want to export a new zip file periodically, or whenever you make changes to your Dorico config.
I took a different approach: I moved my Dorico config folder under my Documents folder, which I back up automatically, and then dropped a junction to this folder in the original location. (I think the Mac equivalent is a symlink.)
What is it you want to do? If you want to back up your key commands, then just make a copy of that file. If you’re looking to back up your settings more generally, then see my previous post.
Sorry I wasn’t clear, how do I re-import it? I suck at computer, please excuse my ignorance!
If you have an older version of your key commands file, you can just drop it into Dorico’s config folder (locations given above). Make sure Dorico is closed first! When you restart Dorico, you should have your key commands back.
I don’t understand, the folder is where I found the key commands file to begin with. There are two files actually. I imagine one is the new one I started yesterday but I don’t know…
restarted computer, got rid of the new key command folder. The old ones work again! phew. thanks!
