Dorico keeps crashing every time I try to create a new piece.
Welcome to the forum, David. I’m sure you can understand that this is an unusual problem, requiring unusual circumstances. In other words, please provide more details so we can try and diagnose the problem:
What are your computer specs, what OS?
Which version of Dorico are you running?
What kind of VSTs do you have installed?
Any other audio software or hardware worth knowing about?
What, precisely, are the steps you take before the program crashes?
One thing that’s most helpful to the developers after a crash is a Diagnostic Report: re-open Dorico, choose Create Diagnostic Report from the Help menu and share the Dorico Diagnostics.zip file here.
