Dorico Elements (Mac) not receiving MIDI

My MIDI keyboard is fine with my DAW, but Dorico doesn’t respond to it.

Hi @zanderary, and welcome to the Forum.

Make sure:

  • that your MIDI device appears and is checked in Preferences/Play/MIDI Input Devices,

  • and that your project is activated:
    (Blue light must be on):

  • You can check that MIDI signals is received by Dorico looking at the lower right corner of the window: pressing some MIDI keys, a little green light should be flashing.
(Nr. 11 of the Status bar picture in Manual):

If this doesn’t help, go in menu Help, and choose Create Diagnostic Report, and post the resulting zip file here: it may be useful for the Team to see what is going on.

Thanks SO much! I got it working.

Also make sure that, if you are running both the DAW and Dorico simultaneously, the DAW is not grabbing exclusive control of the sound card. DAW’s can do that to make sure they are not interrupted while doing DAW things.

Those things that DAWs do: Daw’s things…

(sorry is late, and the last beer is kicking in  )
