Dorico for iPad - Importing from Cubasis - is there a way?

Hi, is there a way to import the MIDI data in project started in Cubasis?

I have Cubase and Dorico on my Mac. But I am travelling with my iPad and want to import the MIDI data into Dorico for iPad. Cubasis can only export a Cubasis project and DAWProject.

Thank you, B

Yes, you can, please have a look in the manual:

Thank you for your response.

Unfortunately, I may have to drop this thought. I have opened both Dorico and MIDI files on my iPad.

Cubasis does not have a Score Editor to visualise the lead sheet. So, I was hoping Dorico on iPad would help.

I love the way Dorico and Cubase work together on my Mac.

Early days,
Thanks again,

I don’t really understand what you are trying to say.
Yes, you can open (import) MIDI files into Dorico on iPad.
Why drop your thought?

I think his problem is trying to get the actual MIDI out of Cubasis first.?

Hi, yes; that is correct.

I have exported from Cubasis to Cubase many times. And now Cubasis does DAWProject. But not MIDI.

It is early days for Cubasis & Dorico on iPad and I am okay if there is not a work around (other than wait till I get home). Or start my projects in Dorico .

Love the double decker bus… do not see to many here in Somerset.

You’ll probably know already, but maybe make a post (feature request) on the Cubasis forum pages.? A search might reveal an ‘answer’ there already (or a good workaround).

The bus - yes, me too; I love it.! A famous old Red London RouteMaster from the 1960’s, among a number of other classic vehicles exhibited one bank holiday a while back, in the city center. Got a free ride on it too… Purred along like a champ…

I agree with you on posting on the Cubasis forum. Most likely for a feature request though. MIDI Export most likely would be the easiest.

Cheers, B

As an update, I have looked on the Cubasis forum (thanks Puma0382) and in the Manual there is a “mixdown” option for exporting MIDI. Unfortunately, this option does not appear on my Cubasis Version 3.8 (which is the latest). So I will raise it on the forum… Cheers, B

The Cubasis forum did help me. There was a change in the Cubasis version 3.8 where MIDI output is exported in the shared project menu.
