Dorico freezes on MacOS 14.7.5 and no diagnostics are produced

Since yesterday, Dorico freezes on MacOS 14.7.5 and no diagnostics are produced. I cannot work with it and cannot report the problem. Strangely, there is no backup that opens automatically the next time Dorico is started after freezing.

Hi @prko , sorry to hear about your trouble.
Have you tried rebooting your machine?
If that does not help, when Dorico is frozen, please go to the Activity Monitor.app and at the top of that window are three little icons, one is a circle with three dots. Click on that and from the pop-up menu choose Create spindump (or similar). The output save to a file, zip up and post here, please.
Additionally you could zip up the content of the folders
~/Library/Application Support/Dorico 5
~/Library/Preferences/Dorico 5 AudioEngine
(the tilde character in front of the paths means your home directory)

So you can’t get Dorico going any more at all? What if you do instead of opening an existing project, create a new one from template. Same issue?

Yes, it seems so.
Creating a new file from the built-in template is no problem. Why is this happening?

I recently installed the BlackHole virtual audio device. Could this be a reason? (I do not think so. I installed it previously and had no problem when IRIC.)

I don’t think it has something to do with that BlackHole, but let’s try it out. Could you please send me that trouble making project plus a “fresh” Diagnostic Report? If you don’t want to post it here publicly please send to u dot stoermer at steinberg dot de. Thanks a lot

I’m having the same problem on MacOS 15.3.2. Killing the VST and restarting Dorico solves the problem temporarily but Dorico will eventually freeze again. This has started in the past week for me. It usually happens when saving and closing a project.

Can you use other audio applications while Dorico freezes?
I think the problem is with MacOS.
