Dorico hangs upon scanning of Dreamtonics' SynthV

Hey team,

unfortunately SynthV crashes the vstscanner process. I’ve attached a DD for you!

Cheers,

Hey Benji,
please have a look at this thread

Hey Ulf!
Frohes Neues!
This is what I have installed, no beta since a few days!

Good to know, I was about to update to the new version, but will now wait. Will it load into your DAW?

it’s working fine here

I noticed a small difference. The build date of David’s and Benji’s Synth V version is slightly different. So it looks they have different builds for Intel and AMD processors. Maybe only the Intel version is hanging where the AMD doesn’t…?

I guess, Benji’s screenshot shows the about box of the standalone application. Here’s the info of the VSTi which works fine on my machine as well:

Ah, okay, you are right , @Martin90 . Still strange though that it works on some machines and not on others…

the only odd thing I’ve noticed is that the voice has an echo of the default keyboard sound – however you can switch this off simply by ensuring the Expression Map has the “natural” patch in the case of using the Default EM disabled-- obviously this technology does not use EM’s in the normal sense. There are probably other ways to do this as well but I assume others have the same behaviour?

Correct!

Strange indeed. Also, I still can’t use EW’s Opus, which also crashes the VST scanner. Maybe both of those issues are somehow related?

I have the latest 2.2.0 pro version. It loads OK as a VST plug-in in Dorico, but crashes my brand new Intel Ultra 9 computer when trying to play the voice. No other programs on my new machine crash like this. Anyway, Synth V is going to be an awesome program once the kinks are worked out!
