Dorico hangs while loading

I have a problem with Dorico Pro 6 that I probably caused myself. I am a recent convert from Finale and it is a bit overwhelming. My computer skills are fair at best so any and all help is most appreciated. I will explain my issues.

Purchased Dorico and all worked find. I used Note performer 5.1.2 and all was well.
Installed ACE Studio and all seemed to function OK.
Purchased and installed Cubase and the problem began.

Dorico would load slowly and hang a 94% when loading a tune.

I have reinstalled Dorico, installed the latest update changed and deleted drivers, and I deleted Note Performer but no improvement. I also removed Band in a Box and Cakewalk programs hoping that would solve any conflicts. It didn’t but Cubase seems to be working OK.

ACE Studio now tells me it fails to setup audio device as well.

Once Dorico loads it functions but very slowly.

Welcome to the forum, Michael. Is it loading an existing project that seems particularly slow, or is it launching Dorico itself that takes a long time? If you start a new project based on e.g. the solo piano template, add a few notes, then save, close, and reopen the project, does that also take a long time?

Thank you for the welcome dspreadbury. I tried your suggestion The template took quite a while to load. After I entered several notes and saved it. When I opened the file it still paused at 94% until it finally loaded the file.

Could you please do from Dorico’s menu Help > Create Diagnostic Report and post the corresponding zip file here? Or send it straight to u dot stoermer at steinberg dot de

I have created a diagnostic report and four folders were created. They are- Activation Manager Audio Engine Crashes Dorico. The Crashes folder is empty. All the others have many items in them. Could you advise which of the above folders and files should be sent? They are rather large. Thank you.

Hi @Michael_Vondracek, it would be much easier for Ulf to download your data if you, as suggested, zip them together into one single ZIP file on your system, first. Then you can just upload only that one ZIP file (or email it to him, if it is more than 4MB big).

Hi @Michael_Vondracek , exactly as @Christian_R already said, please upload a zip file that contains all the files. Actually, that what Dorico spits out after you click on Create Diagnostic Rep;ort, is already a zip file containing everything I need. So please send me that one Dorico Diagnostic.zip file. That what you have sent so far is not sufficient in order to help you.

Hi @Michael_Vondracek , thank you very much, yes, that is what I wanted.
Unfortunately, from the log files of both, Dorico’s and the VSTAudioEngine’s log data I could not find any wrong doing of them.
The simple fact that also Cubase is installed along with Dorico shall not matter at all. The only impact I see is, if they run in parallel and maybe try to use the same audio driver. So what if you use in Dorico the Steinberg Built-in ASIO driver instead (Edit > Device Setup)?
