Please send me a new set of diagnostics, so we can see what might be going on now that Avast is out of the picture.
Thanks for sending the diagnostics over. The problem appears to be that on your system, a particular part of the Qt stack, which uses an interpreter/virtual machine to run some parts of the UI, is crashing unpredictably. In general there are no known problems of this kind that we are tracking, so it appears that the problem is localised to your system.
This suggests one of a few things:
– Faulty RAM or an overheating CPU
– A problem in your graphics or audio drivers
– Interference from other processes running on your system, e.g. anti-virus or anti-malware software
To help troubleshoot, could you please try the following steps:
- Update your graphics drivers: Make sure your graphics drivers are fully up to date. Visit your GPU manufacturer’s website (e.g., Intel, Nvidia, AMD) for the latest drivers: don’t rely on Windows Update.
- Check for hardware issues: Run a memory test using Windows Memory Diagnostic or MemTest86 to rule out faulty RAM. Also, ensure your computer isn’t overheating under load.
- Disable anti-virus temporarily: Some antivirus or security tools can interfere with how third-party software runs. Try disabling it temporarily or adding Dorico to its exclusions list.
- Run System File Checker Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run:
sfc /scannow
. This checks for and repairs corrupted system files.
Please let us know how you get on.
